Tallies – No Dreams Of Fayres

The new single from Toronto’s Tallies deals with the subject of mental health and in particular the depression faced by vocalist/guitarist Sarah Cogan. It’s a beautiful song with Cogan’s voice soaring above the swirling synths and jangling guitars. The band have built upon the 1990s inspired dreampop found on their 2019 self titled debut album and at one point, mainly thanks to the video, I was wondering if I was hearing a indiepop version of Massive Attack’s Blue Lines.

The band are signed to numerous labels at present – Bella Union (EU/UK)/ Hand Drawn Dracula (CAN)/ Kanine Records (USA) – which may suggest a new album is in the works. In the meantime, get your hands on this highly recommended single from here.
