Swansea Sound – Swansea Sound

The new self-titled track single from Swansea Sound is about the radio station from which the band took their name. The band write that “On 1 September 2020 Swansea Sound Radio ceased to exist: it was taken over by a global media company and re-branded. The song is dedicated to anyone whose life, livelihood or environment has been damaged by self-serving corporate activity”.

Someone once wrote that indiepop is socialism and the band have nailed it with those comments. The track itself is a slow-building effort sung with passion and is available in both English and Welsh versions. The former will appear on the band’s debut album Live at the Rum Puncheon whilst the latter is exclusive to this release.

Swansea Sound is available in cassette and mini-cd versions. It’s available in digital formats too but don’t expect it to appear on Spotify!
