French band Je T’Aime describe themselves as Cold-Punk (yeah, I like that!) and they look to early Factory Records and Manchester in general for inspiration.
The original version of Another Day in Hell is very guitar-driven and, whilst it has its moments, it struggles to stand out from the crowd despite its way too long five and a bit minutes.
The Zus remix however is a different kettle of fish and a hefty dose of electronica is just what the song needs. The vocals are more prevalent and are ably supported by synthetic beats. Of course, it’s a question of preference but I know which one would drag me out onto the dancefloor.
Another Day in Hell is out now via Icy Cold Records or the band.
