Fine, the Lincolnshire based two-piece comprising of Kid Chameleon and Alice Kat, have just released their new album I’m Glad It’s Over Now. It comprises of 11 tracks and features the singles Little Voices and the excellent 2023. It’s packed full of mellow twee pop/indiepop tunes dealing with heartbreak and lost love. Whilst it sounds somewhat similar in a number of places there is still plenty here to entertain the listener especially on the likes of Where I Came / Where You Left and At My Feet.
Australian act Candy release their new album A Pull To Heal at the end of this month. The album sees a shift in sound which sees jangling guitars and drum machines being replaced by a rockier approach. Calum Newton’s words and voice still dominate mind and of the three tracks currently available for streaming it’s Clean that stands out for me.
Los Angeles based Massage release their new album Still Life on June 21st 2021. Amongst the twelve tracks is the recent catchy single Michael is My Girlfriend . The opening track Half A Feeling is available for streaming and it’s another fine track that sets the standard for the others that will eventually follow. It’s being released via Tearjerk Records (Aus), Bobo Integral (ESP) and Mt.St.Mtn (US).
New York based No Kill have a new single out. Swooning is taken from the forthcoming long player Gold Chorus which will be released by Substitute Scene on March 21st. The track is an effective alt-rock track with some noise added for your listening pleasure. The vocals are strong and damn catchy with it too. It’s the first time I have heard of No Kill and I doubt it will be the last.
