Choir Division – Passover/Blue Monday

Today’s post leads on nicely from yesterdays. Hamburg based Choir Division write that they are “probably the world’s first and one and only choir to worship the music of Joy Divison and New Order”.

We have not heard from them for a few years and these two versions have been recorded during a previous lockdown and have just been released.

Passover featured on that last release but this new version loses some of the choral effects with the harmonies being replaced by programmed beats. The voices are just as divine mind. The version of Blue Monday is a treat. Whilst there is still some beats/percussion/snare the voices rise above them giving emphasis to the words. No gloomy singing here, just lovely harmonious voices.

If you are a fan of all things Joy Division/New Order then you may want this. If not give it a listen. How does it feel? Passover/Blue Monday is available from Bandcamp on a pay what you want basis.
