Robin Guthrie has recorded and mixed The Fawns Of Love track Someday from last years Permanent album which I said was ripe for a remix when it first came out!
It is somewhat ironic as I have always thought that the band had a bit of The Cocteau Twins about their person. Guthrie has always been one of my favourite remixes and he slows the track right down turning it into a dreamy, swirling ethereal track that highlights the lovely voice of Jenny Andreotti. It’s backed with a new track Never Sing For Joy which features resplendent Peter Hook style bass lines which have been a feature of the band’s music for some now.
