I cannot say I have really been grabbed by Kidsmoke. Maybe I expect more from a band who write that “the band play indie-pop inspired by The Smiths, Joy Division”. I found tracks like previous single Waves to be a bit turgid (for the want of a better word) but I persist because their recent cover art is so eye catching. Now they have made a track that has caught my ears too in the shape of And Mine Alone. Twisting and mesmerising guitars combine with effortless, sometimes dreamlike, vocals resulting in a damn fine indiepop tune. Good things come to those who wait…
