I’ve Got Secrets Too is the latest release from Brooklyn’s Exiles. Opening track Dawn Patrol is an excellent example of dreampop with shimmering guitars and vocals that pack a punch. It is certainly up there with the best that dream pop has to offer in 2015.
However I am not sure about the rest of the EP as the other three tracks sound somewhat polished, samey and safe to me. Each song is somewhat constrained with the band unwilling to venture into the territory afforded to them by the opening track. Yes it is all pleasant enough and the vocals of singer Moire Echo are fantastic but that old adage nothing ventured, nothing gained springs to mind.
