Even As We Speak – Someone

Even As We Speak have released the second single to be taken from the forthcoming album Adelphi that will be jointly released by Discos de Kirlian & Shelflife Records in June. Titled Someone the words & voice interlace with the hook laden keyboards and guitars resulting in a pretty strong sounding indiepop/spacepop hybrid. Weekend Round Up #2

I am writing this one later than expected and as I listen, being a nice varied mix on this blustery Sunday Night. Australian indiepop legends Even As We Speak will be releasing a new album on Shelflife Records and Discos De Kirlian in June. Forgiving is the first single to be lifted from said album and it is, as you would expect from the band, to be a lovely twee/c86 inspired slab of pop music. Indiepop veterans, John Peel faves and ex Sarah Records band Even As We Speak have released their first material since 1993. Entitled The Black Forest it’s a 5 track EP and the first three songs here sound like they have never been away. Standout tracks Clouds and Such A Good Feeling are likely to be two of the best indiepop songs you are likely to hear this year.
