The new single from the Saint Petersburg based Blankenberge see them trying their hand at a love song. It’s a fine shoegaze song combining the intangible voice of Yana Guselnikova whilst the swirling guitars and synths also add a layer of fuzziness to the mix. It’s like a toned down Pinkshinyultrablast in places and like their compatriots music it is also an essential listen if you have a love for all things shoegaze. Most good. Right Now is the first we have heard from Russian dreampop/shoegaze band Blankenberge since their stunning 2017 album Radiogaze. Ethereal female vocals move furtively throughout the effortless guitars whilst the drums stir into action. The title track of the aforementioned album gets remixed by éntha and sees the track’s original industrial sound clashing and then merging with experimental electronica.
