The Virginia Planes hail from Heidelberg, Germany. Step Into This World is the duo’s debut single, and it’s a great song to kick things off with. The track fuses noisy shoegaze guitars and dreampop which overlays a repetitive programmed beat which is reminiscent of Massive Attack’s Teardrop. Houston’s Bug Bites return with their first single in a couple of years. Toyota Sienna is a nice blend of alt-rock and alt-Americana, detailing how life has flashed by after a lift in the back of Toyota Sienna in the year “2000 and something”. Have the protagonists wasted time after the loss of youth and over the course of the sad, mournful words contained within the passages of the song?
