Lost Pets – Lost Pets EP

Nottingham’s Lost Pets have just released their debut self titled EP. The lo-fi folk songs here lead on from last years demos retaining the melancholic feel and that’s a good thing. Six tracks to immerse and lose yourself in with Richard Loves Doris and the almost upbeat Discount Sushi being the pick of the bunch. The EP is available to buy in digital formats from here. Talbot Adams – Green Girl/I Love You So

I have not come across Talbot Adams before but a quick glance at his bandcamp page show releases going back to 2010. Green Girl is his new single and has that authentic 1980’s indie sound about it. It’s pretty infectious too and will have your attention throughout. Flip side I Love You So doesn’t quite grab me in the same way. It’s a bit hit and miss and whilst the 1960’s vocal effects are nice the track doesn’t bring anything new to the party. Buy for the A side. It’s out on 7″ vinyl via Market Square Records. get it … Continue reading Talbot Adams – Green Girl/I Love You So

Joanna Gruesome – Liar

Liar is taken from the new split release with the lo-fi sounds made by Trust Fund. Clearing The Decks

I have bookmarked a lot of music to mention but time prevents me from writing about them all individually so this post is a round up of them all serving as my must buy list too! Note: if you want to listen to a companion playlist to this post head over here. The Hundredth Anniversary released their Wreckers EP back in March. Not sure why I didn’t mention it then as it’s great. Another great release on Oddbox Records. Spanish indie poppers Band A Part have a compilation of their early material and demos out on Elefant Records. It’s a … Continue reading Clearing The Decks

Never Mind Sundays – 5 Year Crush / On The Right Track

Vintage sounding bedroom pop from the south of England with both tracks here paying homage to the likes of Another Sunny Day, The Razorcuts and The Subway Organisation. On The Right Track sounds like it was lifted from one of those German indiepop tapes that were floating around twenty five years ago. Free download. Coach Longlegs – No Dogs At Shows

I have been meaning to jot down some words about Coach Longlegs No Dogs At Shows on Unpop for a month or two now. If it’s shambling lo-fi DIY indiepop you are after then you lend this lot your ears. I love the rawness of this and whilst the novelty may wear off at some point this for the time being is just fun pop rather than Unpop. It’s available as a cassette release for just £2 or pay what you want for it digitally at Unpop. Facebook Continue reading Coach Longlegs – No Dogs At Shows
