I noticed an EP titled Rock Paper Scissors! has just turned up on Bandcamp with a release date of a couple of months ago. Despite being on the Japanese label Galaxy Train Darlivie are an Indonesian outfit based on the recording blurb and I suspect this EP is their debut release.

The EP consists of four tracks with the longest one running it at just 1m36s with the tracks reminding me of a certain Yogyakarta based band.

The first three tracks are female fronted resplendent with fuzzy guitars that give them a DIY indiepop feel. The words are wistful and to be honest it’s more of the same on the fourth track except this time male vocals take the lead before they are jointly sung.

The opening track Hi, which sounds like The Breeders if they were an indiepop band, is my pick of a very good bunch of songs indeed.

Grrrl Gang have been somewhat quiet these past two years and if they do not show up sometime soon we have a ready made replacement in the shape of Darlivie.
