Makassar’s The Interpretation Cultures write that the two songs found on this release “inspired by some of releases indie label disanorak/heavenpunks from Jakarta, and surrounding areas. in which we think has a raw style“. The first track Suicide Prevention has the DIY/Bedroom indiepop sound prevalent on that aforementioned label so if you are a fan of the current indiepop scene based in Indonesia you will like this one. The song is also the subject:
For suicide prevention
Maybe I think this song
Saves just one life
It’s taken me ages to get into Sleepyhead. On the first couple of listens I thought it was somewhat mush like but subsequent listens have now suggested otherwise. The vocals are sung in a shaken manner, for the want of better words, and the song expands with each played note. Like the band’s previous EP it sounds in places like Hiki thanks to it’s sweeping sound. Get it from here.
