Vanishing Muffins – Taste of Cherry

Whatever they put in the water in Indonesia a few years back is definitely reoccurring, as evidenced by the emergence of the Chaotic Pop Label. Now the new single on the established label Disnaorak by Vanishing Muffins sets down yet another marker.

Taste of Cherry sounds like The Shop Assistants being fronted by The Mary Chain’s Jim Reid whilst Meat Whiplash look on from the side lines. A truly superb blast of retro noise pop. The flip side To Be With Someone That Shouldn’t Be With Me heads straight into slower fuzzy pop territory, mixing early Mary Chain with the Velvet Underground with both getting stuck into a “wall of sound”.

Taste of Cherry is out now digitally on Disnaorak whilst a cassette will appear at some point on HeavenPunks.
