Linköping’s The Slow Summits are one of the bands that I always look too for my dose of C86 inspired indiepop.
The new single Oh Me Oh My is certainly no exception to that rule, as it invokes the Medway Scene to these ears, including The Dentists and The Claim. However, as I have previously mentioned, the band invoke the likes of the Brilliant Corners and Orange Juice.
Of course if those names mean nothing to you (check them out yeah?) Oh Me Oh My is a lovely indiepop song characterised by a melodic combination of synths & guitars, lyrics that make you stop & think alongside a very strong harmonious vocal performance that oozes charm. And any song that opens with its title being sung is damn fine by me!
