Pálida Tez hail from Albacete, Spain. The band consists of María Virosta (voice/guitar), Samuel Cuevas (guitar/voice), Manuel Castaño (drums) and Elena Perales (bass). Arquitecta De Mi Propia Tristeza, which translates as Architect of My Own Sadness, is the band’s third single behind last year’s Las Cenizas de un Verano/Joven Cuervo and Automatismo Cranioencefálico.
It’s a fuzzy indiepop affair that shares its DNA with the late 1980s UK indie scene and early 1990s US pre- and post-grunge bands. The scything guitars are certainly reminiscent of Dinosaur Jr as the song buzzes incessantly like a bug, but one you ultimately do not wish to swat!
