Three shoegazing tracks, of varying degrees, to suit a rain drenched day such as today!
hiçamahiç – Durdurdum
An incredibly accessible track containing all the requirements taken from a now heavily worn shoegaze template. It’s a shame it is so short, but that is part of the song’s charm, I guess. Durdurdum (I Stopped) is the second single to be taken from the Istanbul based outfit’s forthcoming album.
Fog – Humidifier
The new single from Seoul’s Fog errs on the gentler, dreamier side of the genre, and one where the lines of shoegaze and dreampop become blurred. It’s a nice song that allows one to drift off, even though the melancholy of the lyrics would suggest doing otherwise.
Perpetual Void – Moonlit
Perpetual Void is a new to me act from Glasgow. Amongst their influences are Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, Lowtide, Hammock and The Churchhill Garden. I can certainly hear the former two on this, the latest single, which fuses ambient into the dreampop mix. Consider the discography purchased!
