The Filipino band Cinéma Lumière have a new album due out soon. Titled What’s Life Without Whimsy? it has been preceded by the first single to be taken from the album, called Sunday.
The track itself has been around for a couple of years now in various forms (here and here) but this new version has finally seen (heard?) the track sound as it always should of have. It’s a fine piece of C86/twee inspired indiepop as you could wish to hear this, or indeed any other year!
What’s Life Without Whimsy? will be out on 09 March 2023 via Catshelf Records and the single can be purchased from here. However, if you want it for nowt, it also appears on the excellent and newly released Popscene Manila compilation titled I Think I Need A New Heart. These guys always produce a fine compilation and this one is no exception. You can get it from here for absolutely nothing. I would have happily paid for it given the chance!
