Secret Postcards hail from Thessaloniki, Greece. They consist of Stella (vocals , guitar), Dimitris (guitar) , Nicholas (bass) and Christos (drums).
Never Dreaming is their debut single and demonstrates their love for indie music from the 1980s and 1990s. It’s dreamy stuff as the enticing vocals swirl around the words and guitars. It’s a sound that has been made so many times before yet Secret Postcards still manage to make it sound fresh as a daisy.
It’s backed with Sweet Melody which sounds like one of those luscious Japanese indiepop tracks which were so prevalent in years gone by. Both songs have set the benchmark for indiepop in 2023 straight from the offy. Let’s hope the rest can keep up!
Never Dreaming is a split release between Make Me Happy Records (Greece) and Fastcut Records (Japan) and is available in 7″ vinyl and digital formats. Those in the States may find copies at Jigsaw Records.
