Of course April Blue are no strangers to these pages and I mentioned last month that their then current single – 結晶 (Crystal) had seen them move from their traditional shoegaze sound to one that fused pop music and dreampop. That remains true here. The shoegaze sounds are still there but the melodies plus Haruki Funasoko’s excellent voice takes the band further into “poppier” territory. And y’ know it works a treat. My J-pop loving daughter will love this one!
