Continuing the series of posting albums and/or EPs as and when they are released (or usually a bit after!) as a follow up to the initial new tracks/singles posts posted on this blog. Sample the release via the You Tube track then dive in to the full release.
Martha – Please Don’t Take Me Back
“Titled Please Don’t Take Me Back it’s a punk infused powerpop song which also owes dues to Nirvana – or maybe Credit to the Nation!”
(Beat Perpetual) “Martha’s new single is another slab of punk infused pop music. It’s as catchy as feck and comes complete with an anthemic chorus which, in an ideal world, everyone would be singing along too.”
“As part of that announcement a third single has been released in the shape of the extremely catchy Baby, Does Your Heart Sink? which is chock-full of hooks and pulls to wheel the listener in.”
Please Don’t Take Me Back is out now on Specialist Subject Records.
The Vapour Veils – The Last Hurrah
“I Am Human And I Need To Be Loved is their second single and is a soaring, catchy indie/alt rock track. At points strays into anthem territory but with a song title like that who can blame them?”
(Eleanor) “And what a vibrant blast of a track it is too. On first listens it reminded me of The Smiths, or even The Farmers Boys, if they were a Brit Pop band but later listens also revealed a bit of a garage feel too.”
The Last Hurrah is out now via the band.
Sobs – Air Guitar
“In the year of some very catchy singles indeed – well I am still humming to myself those from January & February for a start – we can add Air Guitar from the Singapore based band Sobs. Not only is it the title track of their forthcoming new album it’s also the attention grabbing lead single that encompasses pop music and genres from a number of decades.”
Air Guitar is out now via Topshelf Records (US), Inpartmaint Inc. (JP) or Kolibri Rekords (ID).
