I must admit that the previous offerings from Rhode Island’s Strawberry Generation were a bit too sugary sweet for my tastes. I can now counter that by saying that the new single Miss Me is a mighty fine indiepop tune of the low sugar variety. The retro guitar sound culled from both the 1960s and 1980s provide a delectable melody whilst in contrast the words are a thoughtful look back to days gone by but lumbered by the loss, distress and sorrow that brings. I am sure that Miss Me will be a song that no doubt will end up on more than one best of 2022 lists come the end of the year.
