Lazy Eye – Palisade

Palembang based Lazy Eye continue their obsession with 1980s UK indie bands and the 1990s American acts they influenced. There are four songs on their latest EP Palisade each containing jangling guitars and shared boy/girl vocals.

Whilst the sound is hardly original the songs themselves are entertaining none more so when Isabella Maulidya’s voice takes over. Her lead vocals on Polaris are lovely whilst the way they twist and turn on Marigold is nothing short of delightful. Uncanny, with Cahyo Ahdiyatman on vocals, threatens to break the mould but it’s soon back in line. However, it does provide some clues how their sound may venture forward in the future. Palisade is available digitally from the band.
