I have to be honest and say that on their two previous tracks Australian band Bridge Dog haven’t exactly set my ears on fire. But it’s early days for the duo and I persevere as they keep appearing in my Bandcamp feeds. I am glad I did because the new track Lemon is their best moment yet.
Like so many others they draw inspiration from the past and on this song, it sounds so much like Sarah Records at times I had to double-check that they come from Sydney rather than Bandung because it’s a retro sound perfected by their Indonesian peers. It’s not a carbon copy mind as they mix it up with some noise and weird sounds alongside exuberant percussion as they carve out their own identity in a crowded market. Most good.
