Wittering from an old indie kid whether it's c86, indiepop, jangle pop, post-punk, coldwave, shoegaze or dreampop!
The new single from Brazilians Oxy is a raucous romp through indie rock, tinged with shoegaze. PRWG (short for Personal Red Wine and the Government) rages at all and sundry whilst the vocals of singer Sara Cândido reminds me of one time Tricky collaborator Martina Topley-Bird who also sang with the same intelligence and venom. The closing words sum it up. “Wasting my wine, I’m not feeling fine, I feel like we’ll die, Voting for more lies”. Brazil or the UK? Sadly, it’s the same difference.
