Barcelona’s Mirror Decay open this, their debut EP, with a pretty damn jaw dropping moment in the shape of Radio. It’s a beautiful track that reminds me of Talulah Gosh’s finest moments. The singers voice is just beautiful over the jangling guitars which at points sound like Blondie’s Dreaming. The backing vocals are pretty damn perfect too. I had better stop gushing now!
The rest of the EP gives the band a chance to show that the opener was not a flash in the pan. It’s not. They even come close to matching it on Wrong and the slow and lovely Day. It’s a stunning debut and if the next one is half as good that will be an achievement in itself.
