And the pack of three is back! Not sure anyone missed it but hey. This weeks pack of three features three shoegazing complications two of which are recently released whilst one came out earlier this year. Dreaming in Sound by Shoegazer Sanctuary Records First up is Dreaming in Sound from Shoegazer Sanctuary Records and label which, unsurprisingly given it’s name, has released a number of shoegazing compilations before. Various Artists – Matinee Idols

Those purveyors of indiepop, Matinee Recordings, celebrate their 20th anniversary by releasing Matinee Idols a compilation featuring both new and established bands on their roster from the States, the UK, Europe and down under. It’s full to the brim of indiepop songs whether guitar or synth driven. There are some great tracks here such as new signings Tinsel Heart with Talk, Last Leaves, who feature ex members of The Lucksmiths with Something Falls, Seabirds who contribute Independent Horses and Game Plan by The Hermit Crabs. Something For The Weekend? Forthcoming Releases

This week’s pack of three focuses on three forthcoming releases to keep an ear out for. Peaness – Seafoam Islands The flip side of the new single due for release at the end of this month on Oddbox Records. I did not hear much from Peaness in 2016 but they are off to a cracking start in 2017. Is it garage? Is it rock? Is it indie? Who cares because it is perfect pop to these ears. Various Artists – Revolution – The Shoegaze Revival

Revolution – The Shoegaze Revival is a thirty track global dream pop/shoegaze compilation. Of all the bands that appear here Ukrainian shoegazers Ummagma were the only ones I have heard of previously. Whilst I am not sure about the revival part of the title I am still making my way through this great sounding compilation and highlights so far include Sharesprings and Intenna both of whom hail from Indonesia.
