Crimson Wave – Say / Calling You 7″

It’s hard not to think of the Deal sisters when listening to this excellent EP from Baltimore’s Crimson Wave as I can hear the likes of The Breeders and The Amps here. Need We Say More (no) are a one off all grrrrl band featuring Helen (Shrag), Steph (The Blue Minkies, Summer Hunter, Shrag) and Kathy (The Thermals). They recorded a couple of tracks and this is the result for London’s Freakscene label. You shouldn’t be at all surprised that they sound like most the aforementioned bands! Hjearts – Hungry Ghost

When you play Hjearts for the first time it sounds like a record in your collection that you just cannot place. And that feeling keeps occurring track after track. That’s not to say there is nowt original here and there are plenty of ideas competing with one another in order to be heard.
