Given the depressing recent election result here in the UK, where we need to get back to a socialist labour party and not one that panders to the middle classes, petty nationalism and the Murdoch press, the timing of this album could not be more apt. That Petrol Emotion once sang “educate, antagonise, organise” and hopefully this album can be part of that rallying cry. I don’t do reviews anymore but if I did they would be like this. Next weekend sees the fifth and final Oddbox Weekender. To celebrate this fact the label have released a free 27 track compilation featuring bands who are playing over the course of the three days. The Debutantes self titled cassette was one of the highlights of last year. It has long since sold out but don’t despair as two of the tracks will be released as a 7″ single next month (and you get four of the five in an accompanying digital version). Excellent noise pop.
