Cleve – Jeda

There are tracks that when you first hear them make you jump up and down and bounce around like a buffoon. Just me then? Anyway Jeda by Cleve is one of those tracks and whilst I admit it’s not a pretty sight to watch these days it has the desired effect thanks to frantic, fuzzy indiepop on offer. Flip side Lagu Pagi is just as good albeit in a more laid back way. Amazingly they are giving it away for free on a pay what you want basis. Hand over you dosh and bounce around for joy! Sundivers – A Records I Like Playlist (October 2017 #2)

A new week and a new playlist. Some great new tracks for you including one from the new project of Ville Hopponen (ex Cats on Fire, Le Futur Pompiste etc.) alongside tracks from the likes of Airiel, The Luxembourg Signal, Just Blankets, The Weed Hounds. Not forgetting the return of Flying Num Stalwarts Sneaky Feelings of course! Enjoy…. Continue reading Sundivers – A Records I Like Playlist (October 2017 #2)

Puzzles y Dragones – Fuerzas Absurdas

More tuneful indiepop for you today in the shape of Fuerzas Absurdas (Absurd Forces in English) from Puzzles y Dragones. It’s taken from their forthcoming debut album Vuelven Puzzles y Dragones and is their first release since 2013’s Somos Puzzles y Dragones. As for the track it’s catchy and bouncy in all the right places despite the sombre lyrics (I had to translate them!). I will be keeping an ear out for the album which is due out next month on Discos De Kirlian. Facebook Continue reading Puzzles y Dragones – Fuerzas Absurdas

Say Sue Me – Good For Some Reason

Busan’s Say Sue Me could have eaily made one of the, if not, best tracks of the year for me. Good For Some Reason has been on constant repeat for a couple of weeks now and I don’t see that changing for quite some time. Indiepop at it’s glorious best. Excuse whilst I press play once more…… A vinyl version will appear on the Damnably label in the future but for now get it from the band digitally. Facebook Continue reading Say Sue Me – Good For Some Reason

We’re Doing Fine – A Records I Like Playlist (September #2)

It’s been a strange month both inside and outside of work so I have not had the time to post as much as I would have liked. So here is the first of two playlists that I will post this weekend covering indiepop, shoegaze, dream pop and alt-rock. Enjoy. Continue reading We’re Doing Fine – A Records I Like Playlist (September #2)

Like You Less – A Records I Like Playlist (September 2017 #1)

Well we are well into the month so it’s about time for a playlist rounding up the various tracks that have been catching my ear via the usual places. That’s not when I have been listening to the new album, The Punishment of Luxury, from Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark which is surprisingly very good. I have also been catching up with 2013’s English Electric which is even better. Back to the playlist which features some excellent tracks from the likes of Jetstream Pony, Tough Age, Glass Arcades, Closure and many more! Continue reading Like You Less – A Records I Like Playlist (September 2017 #1)

Jetstream Pony – Like You Less

Brighton based Jetstream Pony release their debut single Like You Less next week on German label Kleine Untergrund Schallplatten. It’s a vintage sounding indiepop song which reminds me of an early Primitives. C17 or what! It’s available on 7″ and details of how to order it can be found here. In other news the band play their first ever London gig at London’s Victoria on October 6th 2017. It’s a free gig and I know all this as I am promoting it! Details on the events’s Facebook page. Edit: And now a video for the flip side. Facebook Continue reading Jetstream Pony – Like You Less

Seafang – Solid Gold

Seafang follow up last years excellent Motorcycle Song single with two more slices of C86 era fuzzy indie pop. Solid Gold harks back to the likes of The Shop Assistants, The Fizzbombs and a lazy era Primitives. Stardust adds some shoegaze to the layers of fuzziness sounding like a transitional My Bloody Valentine. Excellent!. It’s out via Emotional Response on vinyl and CD formats or pick it up digitally from the band. Facebook Continue reading Seafang – Solid Gold
