93MillionMilesFromTheSun – Watch Her Fall EP

May 4, 2015May 4, 2015 Tom

The fact that their name is taken from a Swervedriver song should give you some clues of how this band sounds. Doncaster’s 93MillionMilesFromTheSun is a new name on me despite the imminent release of their third album Fall Into Nothing. The Watch Her Fall EP came out in February and I have been playing it more and more in recent weeks. It is simply immense none more so than on Breathe Again. If there truly is a shoegaze revival in 2015 then this lot should be right up there leading from the front. Get it from here. Facebook Continue reading 93MillionMilesFromTheSun – Watch Her Fall EP

Flyying Colours – Running Late

Apr 17, 2015Apr 18, 2015 Tom

Running Late is taken from the ROYGBIV EP by Aussie shoegazers Flyying Colours. It’s out on May 11th via Club AC30 (UK/EU) or stateside via Shelflife a day later. Running Late is proof that shoegazers can produce perfect pop songs. This has been on repeat for a couple of days now and I cannot see that letting up just yet. The School – All I Want From You Is Everything

Apr 15, 2015 Tom

Brand new single from The School featuring four tracks including two tracks taken from their forthcoming album as well as covers of Knickers Baby Don’t Hold Your Breath For Me and Carole King’s Crying In The Rain. I Will See You Soon is the best track here and grabs me more than the title track. It’s all undeniably The School who rarely veer away from their 1960’s girl band influenced brand of indiepop. But if it ain’t broke………… It’s available as a limited edition 7″ single or digitally. Buy the 7″ from here Facebook Soundcloud Continue reading The School – All I Want From You Is Everything

Mercury Girls – Demos

Apr 10, 2015Dec 11, 2016 Tom

Mercury Girls contain two members of Literature and Catnaps which alone should be a recommendation to give these tracks a listen. Some nice fuzzy guitars and shared vocals here (well the standard indiepop template then) which get my feet tapping here alone in an empty office bathed in the spring sun. It’s a pay what you want download from here. Facebook Continue reading Mercury Girls – Demos
