Brian Bilston and The Catenary Wires have made a video available for one of the tracks from their forthcoming album Songs Made By Humans.
Titled Every Song On The Radio Reminds Me Of You it’s a gentle indiepop song about our protagonist dealing with their partner leaving them but they cannot do so because “Every Song On The Radio Reminds Me Of You”. And was that a reference to a Rainbow song as our protagonist comes “down to earth?” – I will get my coat!
Songs Made By Humans features 13 song-poems created by poet Brian Bilston in collaboration with The Catenary Wires.
Skep Wax write that “for the album, Rob (Pursey) took thirteen of Brian’s poems and created melodies and arrangements, which are then played by a full band, with Ian Button on drums and Fay Hallam on keyboard. Sometimes the words of the poems are sung by Amelia (Fletcher) or Rob. Sometimes they are spoken by Brian. Sometimes both these things happen at once. This is a pop album where the poetry and the music are equal partners: sounds made by humans in perfect artistic alignment.”
Songs Made By Humans will be released on May 09 2025 can be pre-ordered from here.
