I have previously mentioned Mamtor before mainly because of their links to The Bodines thanks to the presence of Paul Brotherton. The band, who take their name after Mam Tor, describe Kissa Cwtcha as “a mystical, romantic, Celtic road trip in the wild west of Britain” It’s an extremely catchy and spiritual track that captures that description to a tee, fusing alt-rock and folk with a sprinkling indiepop thrown in for good measure. Local High Peak “lad” Arthur Lowe is the cover star.
