The Los Angeles based Fairfields are a new name on me. They comprise Ryan Silo (vocals/guitars), Jayd Abellaneda (drums) and Yani Dy (bass). 4pm is the band’s third single, and it’s a blend of shoegaze, indiepop and dream-pop. I am loving the female backing vocals from Rane Dy on this one, which alongside the moody main vocals, gives the song an ethereal feel over the glistening and melodic guitars. If I had to give a pointer, I would say that if you liked the Belong era Pains of Being Pure At Heart, then 4pm will tickle your fancy as well.
