mmmarkos! is an Indonesian band comprising Angelina Paskali (vocal), Fadhullah Hamid (guitar) and Ivan Reza (bass). The band were formed via the Surabaya Dynamics University scene and like many of their peers they are inspired by UK/US indiepop.

However, carbon copies they are not and across the two tracks here the band add a modern twist down a well trodden and, dare I say it?, worn path. The use of synths and Paskali’s voice add vibrancy alongside the fast paced guitars. The songs are overtly catchy, with enough hooks to wheel the listener in time and time again.

There is no stopping Indonesian indiepop is there? I am glad not to have mentioned the “S” word, once!
