Slow Pulp – Cramps

Whilst indiepop, which has been a mainstay of my listening and these pages too, seems to be fading from fast from view (or should that be these listening ears?) shoegaze influenced music seems to be on the rise once more especially when it comes to my Bandcamp discoveries and listens.

Cramps, which is the the new single by the Wisconsin based Slow Pulp, is a case in point. Using 1990s shoegaze as it’s initial building block, the song also encompasses grunge and reverb soaked rock guitars, to deliver something of a rip roarer. That alongside the basslines and Emily Massey’s voice makes the whole song something of an exhilarative listen. Not my usual tipple, but what is these days?
