The Athens based band Glances of Bordeaux released three singles last year, and now their fellow country folk at Make Me Happy Records have compiled these into a four track EP. The band write that their sound combines inspiration from the likes of Depeche Mode, New Order, Slowdive, The Cure and Interpol. Landmines, with its Peter Hook inspired bass, is the strongest track here, but for the main part, the band’s sound is reminiscent of the post-punk revivalists of the noughties, particularly the aforementioned Interpol. The distinctive vocals give them a slight edge over their peers, but if it’s an enjoyable post-punk romp you are after, then you do not need to look any further.
