Is it me or does the new single from the Indonesian outfit Gizpel have a deep Peter Hook vibe to it whether it’s from very early New Order or Revenge. I even started thinking Freebass as well halfway through and that’s a band I have not thought about for a long time now. From the opening bars to the the delivery of the vocals it sounds like a bit of homage and is a complete contrast to the two singles released by the band last year. Maybe they are heading back to the time when I first heard them? Anyway Hooky or not it’s a fine moody post-punk track. Mundor Has To Say is out now on Kolibri Rekords.
