The Greengrocers – Single

The debut single from Oakland’s The Greengrocers features two tracks. Rotten Apple’s is the sound of a flexi disc sellotaped to a fanzine cover from days gone by. It’s a short, fuzzy burst of indiepop and reminds me of a noise-pop version of The Lemons. Given the cover art it’s no surprise to hear the band covering The Shop Assistants Fixed Grin on the “flip” side. It’s one of my favourite Shoppies tracks and the band do it justice. Oh to be 18 again! Thoroughly enjoyable and recommended. Get it from here.
