Ghost Shadows is the lead and title track of the Naples based Mary’s Restless Dream new five track EP. It’s also rather good, very vibrant drawing on the late 1980s/early 1990s UK shoegazing bands. It’s also tinged with some darker elements – gothic post-punk giving it some originality, diversity in an over crowded space. The rest of the EP flits through the vibrancy of the title track (Sun Red Sun) or of the slower paced, more atmospheric type (Starfish). Mary’s Restless Dream – Your Pain Is Free

Italian band Mary’s Restless Dream have released their second EP two and a half years after their first. So, is it worth the wait? Opener Show Me The Way bursts out of the block with it’s fusion of shoegaze and 1990s alt-rock blowing cobwebs away left, right and centre. Sadly Love is one of those slower alt-rock tracks that drifts into epic ballad territory and doesn’t benefit these ears.
