Heartbeats is the first single lifted from it and it sounds a bit like The Breeders to me. And that is never a bad thing! Flowers – Until You’re Dead EP

This week has seen the first release on Fortuna Pop from the ever wonderful Flowers. The band have signed to Kanine Records stateside so hopefully a US release will follow for fans across the pond. Stuck is the third song from the single and just features singer Rachel singing alone somewhat ethereally with just a one string bass for company. The Spook School

For one reason or another I didn’t listen to that much music (well recent stuff anyway) in 2012 and one band I have been meaning to catch up on was Edinburgh’s The Spook School. Glad I did as I think their tunes are pretty good taking the indiepop template and making it so much better. I came across these demos by the band Flowers whilst wasting sometime on Bandcamp and they are certainly worth the free download. I don’t know anything about the band although they state on their homepage/facebook page that they are signed to Fortuna Pop. There is also a release on Cloudberry Records coming up and that may be my first purchase from that label for a while.
