Fawns of Love – Zine Days

I quite enjoy the Gothic tinged post-punk produced by the Fawns of Love. They mix Jenny Andreotti’s excellent vocals, that draw comparisons with those of the Cocteau’s Elizabeth Fraser, with a guitar based sound reminiscent of Joy Division/early New Order to great effect. Flip side Something Stupid is my pick of the two tracks here sounding like it was lifted straight from Garlands. Zine Days is available on 7″ and digital formats which you can order from here. Fawns Of Love – Who Cares About Tomorrow

Given that one of their previous musical guises was called Peppermint Kisses it’s not too much of a surprise comparisons made with the Cocteau Twins on The Fawns Of Love debut LP Who Cares About Tomorrow especially given the vocals of Jenny Andreotti. Mind you she credits Sparks, who the band are massive fans of, for her vocal style rather than Elizabeth Fraser.
