Battery Point – Desire

Battery Point have been consistently delivering some great tunes for the past few years and Desire keeps that run of success going. It contains all the ingredients that have made have the band stand out and Desire errs between the lines of indiepop and shoegaze with the joint vocalists sounding better than they have ever done. Desire remains in the consciousness long after it finishes, and I am sure this one will be in the 2019 best of lists despite the year only being two months in! Battery Point – A Memory For Today

Sarah Records revivalists Battery Point deliver another fine EP that in part pays homage to the aforementioned label. Another Year and Time are on the melodic side of dreampop/shoegaze rather than the harsh version practised by Secret Shine – see they are not paying that much homage! Wonder sounds like a track My … Continue reading Battery Point – Star

Battery Point – Battery Point

With a name like Battery Point it should come as no surprise to find this release tagged as C86 and indiepop on bandcamp but the real surprise is just how good these songs are. The essential elements are here including jangling guitars and girl/boy vocals but it’s how infectious these songs become after just a couple of plays that amazed me. None more so than on the closer Violet Dreams where the female vocals become dominant over driving drums with the guitars shimmering and soaring. I have been playing this all morning. I suggest you do the same. Continue reading Battery Point – Battery Point
