Just to prove that everyone hears things differently I have read a lot of comparisons of Pang to The Long Blondes. This is a bit wide of the mark for me and I would say that Pang owe their sound to the likes of female fronted post punk acts such as Girls at Our Best, The Modettes and to a lesser degree a punkier Slits but then again I am an old man! The Salient Braves – Somewhere Sordid EP

The title and lead track on this EP will more than likely to be in my top 10 tracks of the year. Hell the rest of the EP is pretty fine too. It certainly is one of the strongest releases musically I have heard in 2013 coupled with intelligent and witty writing. There is even a decent cover of The Kinks Waterloo Sunset which may give you an idea behind some of main man Matt Bailey’s songwriting influences.
