I have mentioned The Fireworks debut self titled EP previously. They have now released a video for the lead track “Higher and Higher”. They also have a change of drummer. Carys has rejoined the reformed (or should that be revitalised?) Give It Ups and has been replaced by Shaun Charman who used to play in The Wedding Present and The Popguns. Club 8 – Stop Taking My Time

Club 8 head for the dance floors following previous excursions that have covered dub, bossa nova and trip hop to name a few alongside their original indiepop leanings. It’s the first single taken from their brand new album Above The City which is out on the 21st May on Labrador.  Another single  “I’m not gonna grow old” predates it on May 7th. The Colleagues – S/T EP

Whilst the UK indiepop scene stagnates once more we have to look further afield for our fix. Bands from The Philippines and Indonesia have been producing high quality indiepop for a few years now ably promoted by the likes of the amazing SEA Indie and the now seemingly defunct Popscene Manila (just go and download all those releases!).
