I Thought It Was Morning is infectious indiepop doused with diy ethos, politics, punk and a bit of reggae. That is about of much as a review as you are going to get out of me but something about Colour Me Wednesday’s music reminds me of how I felt over half a century ago when I first started getting really excited about music. Various – Dead Funny Compilation Vol​.​1

A compilation from Japanese label Dead Funny Records featuring bands spearheading the ‘C86’ revival in that country that came out at the beginning of the year. Here is a nice little article about the current Japanese indiepop scene which also mentions Dufflecoat Records a label that releases music from some of the bands mentioned here in the UK. Various Artists – Indietracks Compilation 2013

The companion compilation to this years indietracks festival is now out and features a number of bands previously featured on these pages. There are 47 tracks which is one from each band at the festival and the whole thing can be yours for a minimum of a double nugget. You can get it from here. The festival itself takes place on the last weekend of July at the Midland Railway Butterley, Derbyshire, England. There are still tickets available. Lisa Bouvier – Every Year Until We Die

Every Year Until We Die is the first single/track taken from Bouvier’s forthcoming album Lay Down Your Life For A Song. You can download it for free or any monies you may part with will go towards The Midland Railway Trust which is the home of Indietracks. And that’s also not the only news about Bouvier.
