Poised Over The Pause Button – Again!

I am sure you may have noticed it’s been a quiet month on these pages. Not only has been work been extremely busy but I have just moved out of London for the first time in 10 years to Sham 69 country.

That coupled with another bout of COVID has meant that my listening has reached a bare minimum. As I start to slowly recover & settle in I have a large listening list to catch up with and no doubt you will hear some of these on the regular mix later this month.

So in my absence you may want to listen to this mix that I started to put together a few months ago. My description of the mix is that it is “a Journey from 1978 to 1993 starting with post-punk influences resulting in the birth of indiepop, then onto Creation Records, NME C86, Twee, Subway, Sarah Records, the US Scene and ending with the emergence of shoegaze.

And if that is not enough for you then you should dig into the wonderful mix Emmas_House recently put together titled With Our Hands In Our Pockets: 40 Years of Indiepop (1986-2025)
