Amelia & The Housewives are a new band based in East Sussex. They describe themselves as “a band from Brighton, who take fun seriously.” They have not released anything as of yet but the band’s debut single titled Maybe is due for release via Damaged Goods on April 11 2025 (digital) followed by a physical 7″ planned for April 25 2025.
Aside from the You Tube snippet below that hints at the songs potential there is no where to preview the track. However I have dug around to see if anything else is out there and I noticed that the band have recently posted a new track titled These Days on their SoundCloud page. No, it’s not a Joy Division Cover but is a stripped back indiepop track highlighting the band’s lyrics and the singers (Amelia?) powerful voice.
There are two more tracks to listen to on the band’s Soundcloud page. One listener said that they remind them of The Long Blondes. That is not a bad shout to be fair so use that as a pointer and give them a twirl.
