The Lousy Pop Group – Time Flies When You’re Having Fun

Three years ago now, the Indonesian indiepop band The Lousy Pop Group released their excellent single Days. It was to be followed by a 7″ EP titled Time Flies When You’re Having Fun on the German based, or is it Peruvian?, label Entes Anomicos. We waited days (sorry, I will get my coat) and months until the songs that were to appear on the EP turned up on a self-titled cassette release on Shiny Happy Records. This was followed a few months later on CD via Melotron Recordings.

Now, all of a sudden, the EP’s three songs have appeared digitally on Entes Anomicos Bandcamp page as a free download. Does that mean the 7″ is imminent? A glance at the labels homepage suggests a 7″ transparent lathe cut could be available, but where? It’s not mentioned on Discogs or the label site for purchase. Maybe I should drop them a line!

I would love to own these songs on vinyl. I previously wrote that the band’s influences are “firmly rooted in the sound of Sarah Records and that one band in particular sprang to mind, being The Field Mice”. Furthermore, I also added that whilst “it’s not original it’s done with respect to the aforementioned band, label and Robert Wratten in particular” concluding it was a fine EP indeed. Now you can see why I want them on vinyl! We will get there, but until then you can grab the Time Flies When You’re Having Fun EP from here.
